UPDATE August 2005 To REH Capital Partners' friends and business colleagues: I hope you are enjoying your summer. I'd like to share with you the highlights of some recent project activities and successes of REH Capital Partners that I hope you will find interesting and thought provoking in consideration of future collaboration efforts or referral opportunities with REH Capital Partners. Sheraton Yankee Clipper and Yankee Trader Hotels, Fort Lauderdale, FL - In what may be one of Fort Lauderdale's largest ever hospitality transactions, REH Capital Partners served as advisors to the Gill family of Fort Lauderdale in facilitating a transaction with Starwood Capital for the JV sale, recapitalization, and repositioning of the famous Sheraton Yankee Clipper and Sheraton Yankee Trader beachfront hotels in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, totaling some 950 hotel rooms. Bishop Holdings Corporation and Kamehameha Schools, Kona, Hawaii - In an on-going assignment, REH Capital Partners is engaged as business advisors and transaction consultants to Bishop Holdings Corporation of Hawaii for the solicitation and negotiation of a master developer agreement for the remaining 1,700 acres of undeveloped resort real estate land holdings within the Keauhou Resort on the Kona Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. Florida's Turnpike - In a unique undertaking, REH is serving as real estate and hospitality advisors to Florida’s Turnpike to evaluate prospects for adding lodging facilities to service plazas along the extensive Florida's Turnpike roadway system. California Family Trust - On behalf of a California family trust, REH handled the purchase and arranged financing for a portfolio of two grocery-anchored shopping centers and a three building office complex located, respectively, in Broward County and Palm Beach County, Florida. Royal Oasis Resort, Freeport Bahamas - REH is in the early stages of evaluation of the Royal Oasis Resort in Freeport, Grand Bahamas (the former Princess Resort and Casino) in an effort to complete a joint venture for the redevelopment of the Resort. Miami Beach Resort - REH Capital Partners served as advisors and consultants to the owner of a large Miami Beach resort hotel to evaluate plans for the redevelopment of this 400 plus room beachfront hotel into a 250 unit, high-end, luxury condominium-hotel. On behalf of the owner group, REH provided an expert report and opinions to the City of Miami Beach Historic Preservation Board on the merits of completely redeveloping the property. Deerfield Beach Hilton - REH Capital Partners assisted a new owner group in the recent acquisition of the Deerfield Beach Hilton Hotel in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Florida Condominium Bankruptcy - REH served as advisor and expert for leasehold creditors in a bankruptcy proceeding involving a large, high profile condominium-hotel project in Pompano Beach, Florida. Expert Witness and Litigation Support - Several REH partners and staff are presently serving as expert witnesses and providing litigation support services to leading US hotel companies in high profile legal disputes involving US and foreign owned hotels and hotel partnerships. Orlando Suites Resort - On behalf of an owner group, REH Capital Partners has facilitated and negotiated the pending sale of a lakefront, all-suites resort located near the Disney World Resort in Central Florida. As you can see, we've been very active with many interesting projects and assignments.
