UPDATE November 2007 To REH Capital Partners' friends and business colleagues: While we start to wind down the current year, I'd like to share with you the highlights of some recent activities and project successes of REH Capital Partners that I hope you will find interesting and thought provoking in consideration of future collaboration efforts or referral opportunities with us. Five-Star Hotel Developments, Sichuan and Hunan Provinces, People’s Republic of China In our first foray into work in the interior of Mainland China, REH Capital Partners served as business and financial advisors to a multi-national company engaged in the development of two 5-star hotels totaling 815 rooms in Chengdu, the capital of the Sichuan Province in southwestern China and in Zhangjiajie, a mountain tourist area in the Hunan Province in northwestern China. Our assistance included business and financial planning, brand and management selection and negotiations and advising on capital formation. Bishop Holdings Corporation and Kamehameha Schools, Kona, Hawaii In on-going assignments, REH Capital Partners is engaged as business advisors and transaction consultants to Bishop Holdings Corporation and Kamehameha Schools in a variety of resort and hotel related projects and transactions on Oahu and on the Big Island of Hawaii. Office Tower and Business Park Developments, People’s Republic of China In a unique undertaking still in process, REH is serving as business and transaction advisors to a US-Chinese led business consortium in an assignment to re-capitalize existing and underdevelopment office tower and business park developments totaling over 1.2 million SF in Chengdu, Sichuan Province of People’s Republic of China. Resort Development, Great Abaco, Bahamas REH is acting as business planning and financial advisor to US principals engaged in the development of a five star hotel and marina resort development on Great Abaco, The Bahamas. In connection with this assignment, REH was instrumental in securing a 5-star resort brand for the project and assisting with formation of the equity capital structure for the project. Mixed Use Office/Hotel Developments, Doral, FL In an on-going assignment, REH is serving as business and financial advisor to a development consortium involved with the planning and development of two mixed-use hotel and office projects in the Doral area of Miami. Our assistance includes hotel development planning, hotel brand selection, and formation of capital structure for the projects. Hilton Hotel Deerfield Beach/Boca Raton REH Capital Partners advised the owner group of the Hilton Hotel Deerfield Beach, Florida, in a comprehensive review and evaluation of hotel business operations and solicitation, selection, and negotiation of a new, third party management contract for the hotel. Rock Resorts / Vail Resorts – Cheeca Lodge, Islamorada, FL REH served as advisor and expert for Rock Resorts and Bickel & Brewer law firm in a contract dispute with the owners of the famous Cheeca Lodge Hotel and Spa, a 203-room full-service condominium hotel conversion, located in Islamorada in the Florida Keys. This led to a highly publicized financial resolution in favor of Rock Resorts. Four Star Hotel Condominium – Sunny Isles, FL REH is presently serving as business and strategic advisor to the owner-developer group of an existing four star, beachfront, condominium hotel project located on Sunny Isles Beach, FL in the Greater Miami area. Special Situation Real Estate Venture REH assisted in the launch and continues to support Sneider Special Situation Group that seeks out assets for acquisition or joint venture in select areas of Florida, the Carolinas, and Texas meeting certain “special situation” investment criteria including redevelopment or adaptive re-use opportunities; under performing assets in major development or redevelopment corridors; deeply discounted assets with low to medium levels of environmental cleanup requirements; and assets with high vacancy levels due to major tenant vacancy or relocation. Expert Witness and Litigation Support Several REH partners and staff are presently serving as expert witnesses and providing litigation support services in connection with several high profile contract dispute involving US and foreign owned hotels, condo hotels, resorts, and real estate ventures. Stress Real Estate Services We are gearing up our activities in advising on stressed real estate projects and transactions in the wake of recent stress in the residential condominium and vacation real estate markets in California, Nevada and Florida and flux in US real estate capital markets. Managing Directors Paul Garity and Jon Simon are leading the REH charge in the western region of the US while Frank Nardozza and Howard Glass are covering the Florida, the Caribbean and other US market areas. As you can see, we've been very active with many interesting projects and assignments.
